I am happy to announce that I have successfully obtained the eJPT v2 (Junior Penetration Tester) certification from INE / eLearnSecurity.
The Journey
It all started with the SAFCSP Cybersecurity Bootcamp, where I was introduced to the fundamentals of penetration testing. The bootcamp covered networking, web application security, system exploitation, and more. It was an intensive and rewarding experience that solidified my interest in offensive security.
The Exam
The eJPTv2 exam is a practical, hands-on assessment where you are given a simulated network environment and tasked with performing a real-world penetration test. It tests your ability to:
- Enumerate hosts and services
- Identify and exploit vulnerabilities
- Pivot through networks
- Perform web application attacks
- Document findings
The exam was challenging but fair. Having spent time in labs and practicing with various tools, I felt well-prepared for the scenarios presented.
What’s Next
This certification has deepened my passion for penetration testing. I’m now exploring:
- Self-hosting services on my home lab to better understand system administration and security hardening
- More advanced penetration testing techniques
- Bug bounty programs
The field of cybersecurity is vast and ever-evolving, and I’m excited to continue learning and growing in it.
